The following link explains a bit about NAPIT and what being a member of the scheme means the installer has to comply with and the benefits this has for the consumer which includes adhering to certain regulations and some financial protection.

When we carry out installations of wood burners, biomass stoves, flues and solar thermal systems we have to register them for Building Regulations.

Being a member of NAPIT allows us to register the installation for Building Regulations as well as allowing us to carry out the installation of renewable technology – biomass and solar thermal.

Some people are told that they have to use a HETAS registered supplier. However, NAPIT are the equivalent of HETAS and NAPIT registered installers are:

  • Able to complete work safely and to legally required standards
  • Regularly assessed to ensure their ongoing competence
  • Capable of working to the very latest health and safety regulations
  • Able to provide you with the certificates you may need should you come to sell or rent your home

As detailed in the following link NAPIT CPS scheme members are able to self-certify the compliance of their work which means you will get a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate from NAPIT. They will also notify your local authority that the work has been completed and certificated as compliant.
